How Does Sculpsure® Work?
Applicators will be placed on your desired treatment area to administer light-based energy, which treats and injures fat cells. In the weeks following treatment, the body naturally eliminates the injured fat cells, resulting in a slimmer appearance.
Who is a Candidate for Sculpsure®?
Ideal candidates for SculpSure® should be within 10-15 pounds of their ideal weight and should be otherwise healthy. The best candidates have pockets of diet- and exercise-resistant fat that they want to remove. If your goal is to lose a great deal of weight, SculpSure® may not be an option for you. SculpSure® should be thought of as a body shaping and contouring procedure. It is not intended for patients who are significantly overweight. SculpSure® treatments work best when combined with a healthy diet and a good exercise program.
What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated With Sculpsure®?
SculpSure® is an FDA-approved non-invasive body contouring system for the reduction of stubborn fat in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, bra fat, arms, love handles, and fullness under the chin.
How Many Sculpsure® Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients need 2 treatment sessions to see significant improvement. Dr. Kim will work with each patient to determine the best treatment plan in order to achieve the desired results. It is recommended to wait 6-8 weeks in between treatments.
How is a Sculpsure® Treatment Performed?
Most patients feel a tingling heat sensation intermittently throughout the treatment which is generally well-tolerated. The SculpSure® device is a laser. The laser heats the underlying fat and initiates a process that leads to the permanent loss of fat cells.
Is There Any Downtime After a Sculpsure® Treatment?
There is no downtime with SculpSure®, so you can have the treatment during your lunch hour and return to work immediately.
How Long Does a Sculpsure® Treatment Take?
The laser is applied to the skin for approximately 25 minutes.

When Will I See My Sculpsure® Results?
Many patients start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to eliminate the destroyed fat cells. You should be able to see the reduction in fat with your own eyes. Studies show that the treatment can remove up to 20-25% of the fat in the treated areas. For many patients, that is enough fat reduction. Some patients will wish to undergo a second procedure to remove additional fat.
How Long Will Sculpsure® Results Last?
Fat cells are permanently destroyed during the treatment and will not regenerate. It is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to ensure long lasting results.
